Tour Highlights
Day by Day Itinerary
Your 4-day Mikumi and Udzungwa safari begins with an early morning departure from Dar es Salaam. Enjoy a scenic drive through the picturesque landscapes of Morogoro as you head towards Mikumi National Park.
Upon arrival, enjoy lunch before embarking on your first exciting afternoon game drive. Mikumi National Park offers exceptional wildlife viewing throughout the year. The park's open grasslands attract large populations of zebras, wildebeests, giraffes, elephants, buffaloes, and various antelope species.
Predators such as lions can often be spotted resting under acacia trees or hunting across the plains. Bird enthusiasts will also appreciate the park's impressive variety of birdlife.
After your game drive, proceed to your lodge for dinner and overnight.
After breakfast, depart for a full-day game drive in Mikumi National Park with a packed lunch.
The highlight of today's safari is exploring the famous Mkata Floodplain, one of the most productive wildlife viewing areas in Tanzania. Often compared to the Serengeti because of its wide-open landscapes, the floodplain provides excellent opportunities to observe wildlife in their natural habitat.
Throughout the day, your experienced safari guide will help you track wildlife and share fascinating insights about the park's ecosystem. You may encounter elephants, giraffes, buffaloes, zebras, hippos, crocodiles, and various antelope species. Lucky visitors may also spot lions and other predators.
Enjoy a picnic lunch inside the park before continuing your afternoon game drive.
Return to your lodge in the evening for dinner and overnight.
Following breakfast, depart Mikumi and travel to the spectacular Udzungwa Mountains National Park.
Unlike traditional safari parks, Udzungwa is best explored on foot. Accompanied by an experienced local guide, begin a rewarding hike through dense tropical rainforest filled with unique plant species, colorful butterflies, and rare wildlife.
The trail leads to the magnificent Sanje Waterfalls, one of Tanzania's most beautiful natural attractions. Cascading over 170 meters in three stages, the waterfall offers breathtaking views and excellent photography opportunities.
At the top of the falls, enjoy spectacular panoramic views over the Kilombero Valley. Depending on conditions, visitors may also enjoy a refreshing swim in the natural pools.
After your hike, transfer to your accommodation for dinner and overnight.
Enjoy breakfast before beginning your journey back to Dar es Salaam.
As you travel through the scenic countryside of Southern Tanzania, reflect on the incredible wildlife encounters and unforgettable hiking experiences from the past four days.
Upon arrival in Dar es Salaam, you will be transferred to your hotel, residence, ferry terminal, or airport, marking the end of your memorable Tanzania safari adventure.
