Morning: Private Transfer and Climbing Preparation
Your private Kilimanjaro climbing adventure begins in Moshi with a transfer to Machame Gate, located on the southern side of Mount Kilimanjaro. After arriving at the gate, your guide and climbing crew complete the registration procedures while your equipment and supplies are prepared for the mountain. Your guide explains the route, discusses the expected walking pace, and checks that you have the essential clothing and equipment for the first day's trek.
Afternoon: Trek Through the Montane Rainforest
Begin walking through the lush rainforest, where tall trees, ferns, moss, and thick vegetation create a cool and shaded environment. The trail gradually climbs through the forest, with occasional muddy or slippery sections depending on the weather. Your private guide sets a comfortable pace and allows time for breaks, photographs, and hydration as you adjust to the demands of the climb.
Evening: Arrival at Machame Camp
Continue along the forest trail until you reach Machame Camp. Your porters and mountain crew prepare the campsite, while the cook serves a freshly prepared dinner. After eating, your guide briefs you on the following day's route and reminds you to drink enough water, eat well, and report any unusual symptoms during your private Kilimanjaro climb.
