Your Kilimanjaro trekking adventure begins with a drive from Moshi to Londorossi Gate, located on the western side of Mount Kilimanjaro. After completing park registration, we continue to the Lemosho trailhead and begin trekking through the lush montane rainforest. The trail winds beneath tall trees, tangled vines and thick vegetation, creating a peaceful introduction to the Lemosho Route. The forest is rich in birdlife, and with luck, you may spot colobus monkeys or hear wildlife moving through the canopy as you walk with your mountain guide.
We continue at a comfortable pace towards Mti Mkubwa Camp, allowing time to appreciate the forest environment and adjust to the demands of the climb. Upon arrival, the mountain crew will have prepared the campsite and a warm meal. Spend the evening relaxing, drinking enough water and preparing your equipment for the next stage. This first day introduces you to the natural beauty of Kilimanjaro and sets the foundation for your eight-day Lemosho Route climb.
