Your private Lemosho Route Kilimanjaro climb begins with a transfer from Moshi or Arusha to Londorossi Gate, the western entry point for the route. After registration and the required park formalities, you continue to the trailhead and meet the mountain team for the start of your expedition. The first trekking stage leads through montane rainforest, where tall trees, moss-covered branches, ferns and dense vegetation create a cool, green environment. Birds call from the canopy, and you may notice monkeys or other signs of wildlife as you walk beneath the forest cover.
Your experienced mountain guide establishes a comfortable pace, helping you settle into the rhythm of trekking while explaining the surrounding environment and the days ahead. Porters transport the camping equipment and supplies, allowing you to concentrate on the trail and enjoy the beginning of your private Kilimanjaro climbing experience. The path can be uneven and muddy in places, especially after rainfall, so sturdy trekking boots and careful footing are important.
You reach Mti Mkubwa Camp, also known as Big Tree Camp, in the forest zone. The camp team arranges your overnight setup and prepares a warm meal, giving you time to rest and prepare for the longer day ahead. Your guide reviews the following stage of the Lemosho Route itinerary and encourages you to stay hydrated and report any concerns early. This first night introduces you to mountain camping and the dedicated support that accompanies your private Kilimanjaro expedition.
