Your private Kilimanjaro climb begins with a transfer from Moshi or Arusha to Londorossi Gate, where we complete the necessary registration and mountain entry procedures. We then proceed to the trailhead and begin trekking through the lush rainforest on the western slopes of Mount Kilimanjaro. Tall trees, thick vegetation, birdsong, and the cool forest atmosphere introduce you to the natural beauty of the Lemosho Route. We walk at a comfortable pace, allowing time to settle into the rhythm of the climb while enjoying the scenery and the experience of beginning your eight-day private Kilimanjaro trekking adventure.
We continue towards Mti Mkubwa Camp, also known as Big Tree Camp, where our mountain crew prepares camp and dinner. This first stage introduces the rainforest environment before the route gradually climbs towards the open highlands. Once at camp, we have time to rest, hydrate, and prepare for the following day's trek. The Lemosho Route is known for its scenic approach and changing vegetation, and this first day provides an excellent introduction to the landscapes you will encounter on your private Kilimanjaro climb. After dinner, we rest overnight beneath the forest canopy in preparation for continuing towards the Shira Plateau.
