Day by Day Itinerary
Your 2 Days Luxury Mikumi Fly-In Safari from Zanzibar begins with an early transfer from your Zanzibar hotel to the airport for your scheduled flight to the Mikumi area.
After landing, your Kilipori Safaris private driver-guide will meet you and assist with the transition from the airstrip to your safari vehicle. You then continue directly into Mikumi National Park for your first private game drive.
The day is focused on the Mkata plains and surrounding wildlife habitats, where the open landscape provides excellent visibility across large sections of the park. Watch for elephants moving between feeding areas, giraffes browsing along woodland edges and herds of buffaloes, zebras, wildebeest and impalas spread across the grasslands.
Your guide will also search areas where predators are frequently active, giving you the opportunity to look for lions and other carnivores while learning about tracks, behavior and the ecology of Mikumi.
Lunch is arranged during the safari, followed by additional afternoon wildlife viewing. Because this is a private luxury Mikumi safari, you are not tied to the pace of unrelated travelers. Your guide can spend additional time at exceptional sightings, quieter wildlife areas or photography stops.
