6 Days January 2027 Fly-In Safari from Zanzibar
The 6 Days January Tanzania Private Safari | Fly-In from Zanzibar 2027 connects a Zanzibar beach holiday with six days of private wildlife viewing across Serengeti National Park, Ndutu and the Ngorongoro Conservation Area.
Instead of spending the first day driving from Zanzibar's connecting airports through northern Tanzania, you fly from Zanzibar to the Serengeti region, where your KiliPori Safaris driver-guide meets you for the start of the private safari.
January is an important migration month in the southern Serengeti ecosystem. Seasonal rainfall influences where wildebeest and zebra concentrate, with the Ndutu and southern plains becoming particularly relevant during the build-up to the main calving period.
The itinerary combines Central Serengeti wildlife, the January Great Migration around Ndutu and the Ngorongoro Crater in one private route.

Tour Highlights
Day by Day Itinerary
Your January Tanzania safari from Zanzibar begins with a morning flight from Zanzibar to an airstrip serving the Serengeti region.
A KiliPori Safaris driver-guide meets you after landing and your safari begins immediately.
Spend the remainder of the day exploring Central Serengeti, where open plains, woodland and riverine habitats support wildlife throughout the year.
Search for lions, elephants, giraffes, buffaloes, zebra and antelopes. Your guide will also check suitable leopard and cheetah habitats as you make your way toward the lodge.
Flying into the safari region allows you to replace a lengthy road approach with wildlife viewing on your first day.
Main Experience: Zanzibar-to-Serengeti flight and first private game drive
Spend a complete day exploring Central Serengeti National Park in your private 4×4.
The Seronera region is known for resident wildlife throughout the year, making it a useful complement to the seasonal migration experience farther south.
Your KiliPori Safaris guide will explore productive grassland, woodland and riverine areas while searching for lions, elephants, giraffes, buffaloes and other plains wildlife.
There is also potential to encounter leopards around suitable woodland and cheetahs in more open terrain.
Enjoy a picnic lunch inside Serengeti before continuing the afternoon game drive.
Main Experience: Full-day Central Serengeti wildlife and big-cat tracking
After breakfast, travel south from Central Serengeti toward Ndutu and the southern migration plains.
The journey is a game drive rather than simply a transfer. Your guide will watch for wildebeest and zebra concentrations while adjusting the route according to current wildlife conditions.
January rainfall encourages fresh grazing across parts of the southern Serengeti ecosystem and Ndutu, influencing the movement of the migratory herds.
As you approach Ndutu, the landscape opens into short-grass plains where cheetahs and other predators may be encountered.
Continue with an afternoon game drive before reaching your lodge.
Main Experience: Great Migration tracking from Serengeti toward Ndutu
Day four focuses entirely on the Ndutu calving-season ecosystem.
After breakfast, explore the Lake Ndutu area and surrounding plains in search of migrating wildebeest, zebra, gazelles and predators.
January is best considered the early calving-season period. Some newborn wildebeest may already be present, but the largest concentration of births is generally associated with February.
The gathering herbivores can also create opportunities for predator encounters. Your guide will search for cheetahs, lions, spotted hyenas and jackals while following current herd movements.
Because this is a private safari, there is no shared vehicle schedule. You can spend longer at significant wildlife sightings when conditions allow.
Main Experience: Ndutu Great Migration, early calving and predator tracking
Begin with another morning game drive around Ndutu, giving you additional time to locate migration herds that may have moved overnight.
After the morning safari, leave the Ndutu plains and travel through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area toward the crater highlands.
The change in landscape is substantial, moving from open migration plains toward the elevated Ngorongoro ecosystem.
Arrive at your lodge later in the day and prepare for the following morning's crater safari.
Main Experience: Final Ndutu migration drive and journey to Ngorongoro
After an early breakfast, descend into the Ngorongoro Crater for the final major game drive of your six-day safari.
The crater floor supports a high concentration of resident wildlife. Search for buffaloes, zebras, wildebeest, gazelles, hippos, lions and other species across its grasslands, woodland and wetland habitats.
The crater also provides a chance of encountering the critically endangered black rhinoceros, although sightings cannot be guaranteed.
After the game drive and picnic lunch, ascend from the crater and continue toward Arusha.
Your 6 Days January Tanzania Private Safari | Fly-In from Zanzibar 2027 finishes in Arusha later in the day.
Main Experience: Ngorongoro Crater private game drive
