Our private luxury Kilimanjaro climb begins with a transfer from Moshi or Arusha to Londorossi Gate, the western access point for the Lemosho Route. After completing the necessary registration and entry procedures, we continue towards the trailhead, where your mountain team prepares for the first stage of the trek. Your experienced local guide introduces the route and reviews the day’s plan before you begin walking through the beautiful montane rainforest. The forest is alive with birdsong, dense vegetation and towering trees, creating a refreshing beginning to your private Kilimanjaro trekking experience.
The trail winds beneath the forest canopy, where moss-covered branches, ferns and tangled roots give the landscape a rich, green appearance. With a private guide accompanying your group, the pace can be managed carefully, giving you time to settle into the rhythm of walking at altitude and enjoy the surroundings. Keep an eye out for wildlife and signs of activity in the forest, including monkeys moving through the trees. Your porters transport the camping equipment and supplies, while your team works to prepare a welcoming camp ahead of your arrival.
At Mti Mkubwa Camp, also known as Big Tree Camp, you settle into your first night on Mount Kilimanjaro. The mountain team arranges the camp according to the selected luxury camping service, and a freshly prepared meal provides energy for the next day. Your guide discusses the following stage and answers questions about the Lemosho Route itinerary. This first night is an opportunity to rest, hydrate and prepare for the longer trek ahead.
