Our private Lemosho Route Kilimanjaro climb begins with a transfer from Moshi or Arusha to Londorossi Gate, the western entrance to Mount Kilimanjaro used for this scenic route. After completing park registration and meeting the mountain team, we continue to the trailhead, where your trek begins beneath the dense canopy of the montane rainforest. The forest provides a cool, green environment filled with birdsong, moss-covered trees, tangled roots and thick vegetation. As we follow the trail, our team establishes a steady walking rhythm that allows you to settle into the climb without rushing. The Lemosho Route is valued for its scenic approach and gradual transition through several of Kilimanjaro's ecological zones.
During the trek toward Mti Mkubwa Camp, you may encounter signs of forest wildlife, including monkeys and colourful bird species, although sightings cannot be guaranteed. The trail can be damp or muddy, particularly after rainfall, so suitable hiking boots and careful footing are important. Our team supports you throughout the journey, encouraging regular hydration and helping you become familiar with the pace of mountain trekking. On arrival at Mti Mkubwa Camp, also known as Big Tree Camp, the crew prepares your campsite and a warm meal. You can relax among the forest surroundings, enjoy your first evening on the mountain and prepare for the ascent toward the Shira Plateau.
