Your private Lemosho Route Kilimanjaro climb begins with a transfer from the Moshi or Arusha area to Londorossi Gate, the western entrance used for the Lemosho Route. After completing the park registration procedures and meeting the mountain team, we continue to the trailhead, where your trek begins beneath the thick canopy of Kilimanjaro's montane rainforest. The forest is alive with birdsong, the sound of insects and the rustle of vegetation, while moss-covered trees and hanging vines create a distinctive atmosphere. As we walk along the forest trail, we keep a steady pace that allows your body to begin adjusting to the altitude and the demands of Mount Kilimanjaro trekking.
The route to Mti Mkubwa Camp introduces you to the natural beauty of the mountain before the landscape opens into higher vegetation zones. Along the way, you may spot colobus monkeys or other forest wildlife, although sightings cannot be guaranteed. Our mountain team supports you throughout the walk, helping you maintain a comfortable rhythm and stay hydrated. When we arrive at Mti Mkubwa Camp, also known as Big Tree Camp, the crew prepares the campsite and a warm meal. You can settle into camp, enjoy the peaceful forest surroundings and rest before continuing your private Kilimanjaro climbing adventure toward the Shira Plateau.
