7-Day March Wildlife Safari in Tanzania | Ndutu, Serengeti & Ngorongoro Crater

Morning Game Drive in Ndutu After your morning tea, we will head out into the plains for your Ndutu calving season safari. March is a very active time here, and we will try to find large groups of wildebeest mothers and their young calves.

Picnic Lunch in the Wild To keep the children happy and out of the strong sun, your guide will set up a nice picnic lunch under the shade of a big tree. We can easily go back to camp for a few hours in the early afternoon so the kids can take a nap.

Late Afternoon Drive When the air gets cooler later in the day, we will go out again to search for predators like cheetahs and lions. We will make sure to return to camp before it gets dark so you can have dinner in peace.

Morning Drive to Serengeti We will leave Ndutu after breakfast and slowly drive toward the center of the Serengeti. The distance is about 80 kilometers, but we will take two to three hours because we will be looking for animals along the way.

Exploring the Seronera Area This central part of the park has a lot of water, which attracts many different animals, including hippos and elephants. Your guide will park the car at a safe distance so the children can watch and learn comfortably.

Relaxing at the New Camp By the late afternoon, we will arrive at your new tented camp located right in the middle of the Serengeti. The family can eat dinner together while your guide tells the kids fun stories about the animals they saw.

Morning Wildlife Search Today you have a full day to explore the beautiful Serengeti National Park safari landscapes, starting early when the animals are awake and moving. Since you are on a Tanzania private safari, you can tell your guide to stop and watch your favorite animals for as long as you want without being rushed.

Camp Lunch and Rest To keep the children from getting too tired, we will go back to the camp for a hot lunch instead of staying out in the heat. This gives the family a chance to relax and avoid the hot midday sun.

Short Evening Drive In the evening, we will take a short drive near the camp to see animals coming to drink from the nearby rivers. We will come back early so you can shower and eat dinner before bedtime.

Exploring New Areas After a good night's sleep, we will drive to a different part of the Central Serengeti to look for animals we might have missed. Taking time to see more areas is why thinking about how many days to spend in Ndutu and the Serengeti is so important for a relaxed family trip.

Picnic Lunch on the Plains Today, we will bring a packed lunch so we do not have to rush back, finding a safe and quiet spot for the family to eat together. Your guide will always make sure the kids have safe places to go to the bathroom during the day.

Returning to Camp In the late afternoon, we will slowly drive back to your camp, looking for leopards resting in the trees. You will have another peaceful evening eating dinner in the dining tent.

Final Serengeti Drive We will enjoy one last morning drive in the Serengeti as we start making our way to the exit gate. This journey takes us out of the flat plains and up into the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, covering about 140 kilometers over three to four hours.

Lunch and Stretching When we find a safe place with nice views, we will stop to eat our packed lunches and let the kids stretch their legs. We keep the driving speed slow to make sure everyone feels good on the bumpy roads.

Reaching the Highlands In the late afternoon, we will arrive at your lodge located high up in the conservation area. The air is much cooler here, so your family can sit warmly by the indoor fire while waiting for your food.

Morning Crater Descent Early in the morning, we will drive 600 meters down to the bottom of the Ngorongoro Crater. This enclosed space makes a Ngorongoro Crater safari very easy and fun for kids, as we can often see rhinos, lions, and big birds very close to the car.

Climbing Out and Driving Back After spending a few hours driving around the crater floor, we will drive back up the steep walls and start our trip to Arusha. The 190-kilometer drive is on smooth, paved roads and takes about three to four hours.

Arriving in Arusha We will reach Arusha town by the early afternoon, where we will drop your family off at your hotel or the airport for your flight home. This brings your safe and fun family trip to a close.
