Experience the Great Migration Calving Season from Ndutu to the Serengeti in a Private 4×4
The 7 Days Luxury Fly-In Ndutu Calving Safari 2027 combines three nights near the Ndutu calving grounds with two nights inside Serengeti National Park. Scheduled bush flights remove the long road journey between Arusha and Ndutu, while a private 4×4 Land Cruiser connects the seasonal migration plains with Central or Eastern Serengeti.
This private luxury Tanzania safari includes six nights of premium accommodation, two full days tracking the Great Migration in Ndutu and one full day exploring Serengeti National Park. Your private driver-guide meets you at the designated Ndutu airstrip and remains with you until the final transfer to Seronera Airstrip.
Ndutu lies within the Ngorongoro Conservation Area beside the Southern Serengeti plains. Between January and March, migrating wildebeest, zebras and gazelles use its short-grass plains according to rainfall and fresh grazing. The wider Serengeti migration involves approximately two million wildebeest, creating substantial seasonal movement across the ecosystem.
Three nights in Ndutu provide time to search around Lake Ndutu, Lake Masek, Big Marsh, woodland edges and accessible open plains. The route then continues into Serengeti National Park, where the focus shifts from concentrated seasonal herds to resident wildlife, kopjes, river valleys and established predator territories.
The safari vehicle is reserved exclusively for your booking. You can request early departures, picnic breakfasts, full-day drives, photography positioning or relaxed returns to camp. Premium seasonal camps provide spacious en-suite tents, attentive service and convenient access to productive wildlife areas.
The safari concludes with a scheduled flight from Seronera to Arusha, avoiding the full-day road journey back. Exact flight times, stops and luggage limits are confirmed before payment because bush-flight schedules can change.

Tour Highlights
Day by Day Itinerary
A KiliPori Safaris representative will meet you at Kilimanjaro International Airport and assist with your luggage. Travel privately to your luxury hotel in Arusha, situated between the airport and Tanzania’s northern safari circuit.
Your safari representative will confirm the bush-flight arrangements, baggage allowance, camp selection and private game-drive preferences. Photographers should use this meeting to discuss camera equipment, charging requirements and seat configuration.
The remainder of the day is free for rest, dining and preparation for the morning flight.
Main experience: Private airport welcome, luxury hotel stay and flight briefing
After breakfast, transfer privately to Arusha Airport and board a scheduled light aircraft to the designated Ndutu airstrip. The flight may make planned stops according to the airline’s route.
Your KiliPori Safaris driver-guide will meet you beside the airstrip. After transferring the luggage into your private Land Cruiser, begin the first Ndutu calving season game drive.
The afternoon route will depend on landing time, recent herd information and track conditions. You may encounter wildebeest, zebras, gazelles, giraffes and predators before continuing to camp.
Arrive in time to settle into your suite, shower and have dinner near the migration plains.
Main experience: Bush flight and first private Great Migration game drive
Leave camp early for a full day around the Ndutu calving grounds. Your guide will select the route using rainfall patterns, recent sightings and accessible tracks rather than following a fixed tourist circuit.
Possible areas include Lake Ndutu, Big Marsh, short-grass plains and acacia woodland. These habitats provide opportunities to observe wildebeest mothers with young calves, mixed zebra herds and predators responding to concentrations of prey.
A private vehicle allows you to remain at behavioural sightings without pressure from a group timetable. Carry a picnic breakfast or lunch when wildlife activity makes returning to camp impractical.
Live births and predator hunts cannot be guaranteed, but a full day provides time to search several areas.
Main experience: Calf observation, predator tracking and private photography
Your second full Ndutu day allows the guide to explore beyond the previous day’s route. Depending on rainfall and migration reports, the game drive may concentrate around Lake Masek, woodland near the lakes or the open plains towards the Serengeti boundary.
The Great Migration does not remain stationary. Herds can spread across a broad area when grazing and water are widely available. Your guide can adjust direction during the day as new information becomes available.
Besides wildebeest and zebras, you may see cheetahs, lions, spotted hyenas, jackals, elephants, giraffes and grassland birds. Return to camp for lunch or remain outside with a private picnic.
Finish with an evening game drive before your third night in Ndutu.
Main experience: Flexible migration tracking and extended wildlife observation
Leave Ndutu after breakfast and drive towards Serengeti National Park. This is not simply a transfer: your guide will continue searching for wildlife while moving from the calving plains into the park’s central or eastern region.
After completing the required entry formalities, explore open plains, rocky kopjes and river systems used by resident wildlife. Lions may rest around kopjes, while cheetahs favour open terrain and leopards may use riverine woodland.
Stop for a private picnic lunch before continuing towards the selected luxury camp or lodge. This day allows travellers to see how the habitat changes between Ndutu and the interior of Serengeti National Park.
Main experience: Cross-ecosystem game drive and big-cat search
Begin the full-day private Serengeti safari at a time agreed with your guide. The route will depend on the selected lodge, recent sightings and your wildlife interests.
Central and Eastern Serengeti contain resident populations of lions, cheetahs and leopards, supported by plains game that remains in the park beyond the seasonal migration. Your guide may explore kopjes, river valleys, woodland and open savannah.
Choose between a full day with a picnic lunch or separate morning and afternoon game drives with a midday break at the lodge. Photographers can request early light, patient observation and positioning that respects park rules.
Return for dinner and your second night inside Serengeti National Park.
Main experience: Full-day predator tracking and private Serengeti game viewing
Begin with a final game drive while travelling towards Seronera Airstrip. The route provides another opportunity to search for wildlife and photograph the Serengeti before departure.
Board a scheduled light aircraft from Seronera to Arusha. The service may include planned airstrip stops. A KiliPori Safaris representative will meet you after landing and transfer you to Arusha or Kilimanjaro International Airport.
Travellers connecting with an international departure should allow sufficient time between the bush flight and international check-in. An additional night in Arusha can be arranged when the flight schedule does not provide a safe connection.
Main experience: Final game drive, bush flight and private airport transfer
