Day by Day Itinerary
Meet your KiliPori Safaris driver-guide in Arusha and travel south toward Tarangire National Park for the first wildlife experience of your seven-day safari.
Tarangire adds a different landscape from the Serengeti and Ndutu plains that follow later in the itinerary. Explore areas characterized by baobab trees, seasonal waterways and savanna while searching for elephants, giraffes, zebras, impalas and predators.
Because the vehicle is exclusively yours, there is no need to coordinate photography stops or departure times with unrelated travelers.
After the afternoon game drive, continue to your lodge.

After breakfast, travel through northern Tanzania toward the Serengeti ecosystem.
The journey passes through changing highland and savanna landscapes before reaching Serengeti National Park.
Continue game viewing toward Central Serengeti, looking for giraffes, elephants, buffaloes, zebras and antelopes. Lions are among the major predators your guide will search for, while suitable woodland and riverine areas provide opportunities to look for leopards.

Spend the day exploring Central Serengeti at your own pace.
Rather than using Central Serengeti only as a route toward Ndutu, this itinerary gives couples a full day to explore its grasslands, kopjes and riverine habitats.
Your guide will concentrate on productive wildlife areas while searching for lions, elephants, giraffes, buffaloes and other resident species. There may also be opportunities to find cheetahs and leopards.
Stop for a picnic lunch before continuing your afternoon safari.
Having a private vehicle means a good sighting does not need to become a five-minute stop. When conditions permit, you can remain longer for photography or simply watch the animals' behavior.

After breakfast, turn south toward Ndutu and the southern Serengeti ecosystem.

Game viewing continues throughout the journey as your guide searches for concentrations of migrating wildebeest and zebra. Exact herd positions vary with rainfall, fresh grass and water availability, so the route can be adjusted according to current conditions.

Today is devoted to the Ndutu calving-season plains.
Leave after breakfast and explore the Lake Ndutu area and surrounding short-grass ecosystem in search of wildebeest, zebra and gazelles.
January is part of the early calving-season period. Some newborn wildebeest may be encountered, although the most concentrated birthing period generally develops later in the season.
The presence of large herbivore herds can also create excellent predator-viewing opportunities. Search for cheetahs on the open plains, lions around prey concentrations, spotted hyenas and jackals.
A picnic lunch keeps you close to the wildlife action.
As a private safari for two, you decide with your guide whether to spend longer around a particular herd, predator or photographic scene.

Start early for another game drive across the Ndutu plains.
Morning provides a different atmosphere from the previous full-day safari, with cooler temperatures and changing predator and herbivore activity.
After exploring Ndutu, begin your journey toward the Ngorongoro highlands.
This transition takes you away from the migration plains and positions you close to the crater for the final wildlife experience of your seven-day safari.

After an early breakfast, descend into the Ngorongoro Crater for your final private game drive.
The crater floor contains grassland, woodland and wetland habitats within a relatively compact wildlife area.
Look for wildebeest, zebras, buffaloes, gazelles, hippos and lions. The crater also supports the critically endangered black rhinoceros, although sightings of any particular species can never be guaranteed.
Enjoy your final safari lunch before ascending from the crater and driving back to Arusha.
