8-Day August Tanzania Safari and Zanzibar Holiday | Private Safari

Breakfast & Departure
After breakfast, we leave Karatu and travel toward Serengeti through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. The journey toward Central Serengeti is approximately 150–170 km and around 4–5 hours of direct driving, depending on the route and road conditions.

Entering Serengeti
As we enter Serengeti, the landscape opens into extensive grasslands and wildlife areas. The journey becomes part of the safari, with opportunities for wildlife viewing along the route.

Afternoon Game Drive
We continue with an afternoon game drive in Central Serengeti, looking for lions, elephants, buffalo, giraffes, zebras and other resident wildlife. Our guide chooses the route according to current field conditions.

Breakfast & Departure
After breakfast, we begin the journey north toward the Northern Serengeti Great Migration area. The direct driving distance is approximately 100–150 km and around 3–4 hours, depending on the location of the lodge and selected route.

Wildlife Drive Through Serengeti
The transfer also serves as a game drive because we travel through wildlife areas. Driving time does not include stops for animals, photography, lunch or comfort breaks.

Migration Tracking
Our guide monitors current herd movement and chooses promising areas for the afternoon safari. In August, wildebeest may be moving through Northern Serengeti, but their location changes according to rainfall, grazing conditions and natural movement.

Breakfast & Early Game Drive
After breakfast, we begin an early Northern Serengeti safari. Our guide checks current field conditions before selecting the day's route.

Mara River Safari
We explore areas around the Mara River where appropriate, watching for wildebeest and zebra movement. A Mara River crossing is never guaranteed, and we do not position the vehicle in a way that crowds wildlife or blocks natural crossing routes.

Full-Day Wildlife Viewing
We continue through the afternoon, allowing enough time for patient wildlife observation. The private vehicle gives you flexibility to spend longer at interesting sightings or move to another area when conditions change.

Breakfast & Morning Safari
After breakfast, we enjoy a final morning game drive in Northern Serengeti before beginning our journey south. Our guide makes the route based on current wildlife conditions.

Northern Serengeti to Central Serengeti
We drive approximately 100–150 km through Serengeti, taking around 3–4 hours of direct travel. The actual journey may take longer because wildlife viewing, photography, lunch and comfort stops are not included in the direct driving estimate.

Continue to Karatu
We continue toward Karatu through the Ngorongoro highlands. This section is approximately 150–170 km and around 4–5 hours, depending on the route and road conditions.

Breakfast & Crater Departure
After breakfast, we drive toward the Ngorongoro Crater for a morning game drive. From Karatu to the crater gate and descent area is approximately 35–45 km, with driving time depending on the access route and traffic.

Ngorongoro Crater Game Drive
We descend into the crater and explore the crater floor, looking for lions, elephants, buffalo, hippos, zebras and other wildlife. We allow several hours for game viewing before ascending from the crater.

Return to Arusha & Airport Transfer
After the crater experience, we continue toward Arusha, approximately 190–220 km and around 4–5 hours of direct driving from the crater area. The journey excludes lunch, comfort stops and any agreed stops along the way.

Flight to Zanzibar
We transfer to the airport for your flight to Zanzibar. On arrival, our Zanzibar transfer takes you to your selected beach accommodation for the evening.

Breakfast by the Coast
After breakfast, enjoy a relaxed morning at the beach. August is part of Zanzibar's cooler, drier period, making it suitable for combining safari travel with time on the coast.

Beach Time
Spend the day swimming, relaxing by the Indian Ocean or enjoying your hotel's facilities. You can keep the day completely relaxed or add an optional Zanzibar activity according to your interests.

Optional Island Experience
If requested, we can arrange an optional experience such as a Stone Town visit, spice tour, boat excursion or other suitable island activity. Activities are planned separately so your beach time remains flexible.

Breakfast & Free Morning
After breakfast, enjoy your final morning in Zanzibar. Depending on your departure time, you can relax at the beach or spend some additional time at the hotel.

Zanzibar Transfer
At the agreed time, our driver transfers you from your hotel to Zanzibar Airport. Transfer time depends on your hotel location and traffic conditions.

Safari & Zanzibar Holiday Ends
Your 8-Day August Tanzania Safari and Zanzibar Holiday ends at Zanzibar Airport, completing a private Tanzania experience combining Tarangire, Serengeti, Ngorongoro and the Zanzibar coast.
