The Perfect 6 Days Private Machame Kilimanjaro Climb designed for you
The 6 Days Private Machame Kilimanjaro Climb with KiliPori Safaris is designed for travelers who want a completely personalized experience on Africa’s highest mountain. Unlike group climbs where strangers share fixed schedules, a private climb means you control the pace, privacy, and experience from start to summit.
From the moment you arrive at Machame Gate, your team is dedicated entirely to you. You are supported by a professional mountain guide, assistant guides, porters, and a mountain chef—all assigned exclusively to your climb. This ensures closer attention to your health, comfort, and acclimatization throughout the journey.
The Machame Route, also known as the “Whiskey Route,” is one of Kilimanjaro’s most scenic trails, passing through rainforest, moorland, alpine desert, and glacial summit zones. On a private 6-day itinerary, the experience becomes more flexible and responsive: rest time can be adjusted, hiking pace can be modified, and daily decisions are made based on your condition rather than a fixed group schedule.
Because this is a shorter version of the Machame Route, our guides apply strict altitude monitoring and pacing strategies. This includes regular health checks, oxygen level monitoring, and structured rest stops to increase summit safety and success.
A private climb also means a more meaningful journey. You share the trail only with your chosen companion(s), allowing for quiet moments, personal reflection, and uninterrupted enjoyment of Kilimanjaro’s landscapes—from the dense rainforest at the base to the breathtaking sunrise at Uhuru Peak (5,895m).
With KiliPori Safaris, your private Kilimanjaro experience is not just a climb—it is a fully supported expedition designed around your comfort, safety, and personal achievement.

Elevation: 1,800 m → 3,000 m
Your adventure begins at Machame Gate after registration with the national park authorities. The trail winds through dense rainforest where towering trees, moss-covered trunks, and occasional sightings of black-and-white colobus monkeys create an exciting introduction to Mount Kilimanjaro. After several hours of gradual climbing, you arrive at Machame Camp, where your mountain crew prepares dinner while you enjoy your first evening on Africa's highest mountain.
Distance: Approximately 5 km
Hiking Time: 4–6 Hours
Elevation: 3,000 m → 3,840 m
Leaving the rainforest behind, the trail climbs into the heather and moorland zone with increasingly spectacular views. As you reach the expansive Shira Plateau, one of the world's highest volcanic plateaus, you'll enjoy panoramic views of Kibo Peak and the surrounding mountain landscape. This shorter trekking day allows your body to begin adjusting to the higher altitude.
Distance: Approximately 10 km
Hiking Time: 6–8 Hours
Elevation: 3,840 m → 4,630 m → 3,960 m
This is one of the most important acclimatization days on the Machame Route. You ascend steadily to Lava Tower before descending to Barranco Camp, following the principle of "climb high, sleep low." Our guides carefully manage your pace and monitor your condition throughout the day, helping your body adapt to the increasing altitude while enjoying magnificent volcanic scenery.
Distance: Approximately 9 km
Hiking Time: 7–8 Hours
Elevation: 3,960 m → 4,640 m
The day begins with the famous Barranco Wall, where your guides assist you through manageable rock scrambles that reward you with incredible mountain views. After crossing alpine valleys beneath the Southern Glaciers, you reach Barafu Camp, the final base before your summit attempt. Following an early dinner, your guides provide a comprehensive summit briefing and prepare you for the challenging ascent ahead.
Distance: Approximately 17 km
Hiking Time: 11–15 Hours
Elevation: 4,640 m → 5,895 m → 3,100 m
Your summit attempt begins around midnight under a sky filled with stars. Moving slowly with your guide, you ascend toward Stella Point before continuing to Uhuru Peak, the highest point in Africa. Witnessing sunrise from the roof of the continent is a moment few adventures can match. After celebrating your achievement and taking photographs, you descend carefully to Barafu Camp for a short rest before continuing to Mweka Camp for your final night on the mountain.
Distance: Approximately 10 km
Hiking Time: 3–5 Hours
Elevation: 3,100 m → 1,640 m
Your final descent follows a beautiful rainforest trail to Mweka Gate. After signing out with the national park authorities, your KiliPori Safaris team presents your summit certificate before transferring you back to your hotel, where you can celebrate an extraordinary achievement and reflect on your successful climb to the Roof of Africa.
