Meet your KiliPori Safaris mountain team before beginning a gentle walk through Kilimanjaro's lush rainforest. Keep an eye out for colobus monkeys and colorful birds as your family settles into the trek. The short hike provides a relaxed introduction to the mountain and ends with a warm meal and overnight at Mti Mkubwa Camp.
Distance: 8 km (5 miles)
Leave the rainforest behind and enter the scenic moorland, where wide-open landscapes and fresh mountain air await. Your guides set a comfortable pace to help every family member acclimatize while enjoying Kilimanjaro's changing scenery before reaching Shira 1 Camp.
Distance: 7 km (4.3 miles)
Walk across the beautiful Shira Plateau, one of Kilimanjaro's most spectacular landscapes. This shorter day gives your family more time to adjust to the altitude, relax at camp, and prepare for the higher elevations ahead.
Distance: 10 km (6.2 miles)
Today's hike follows the important "climb high, sleep low" approach, helping your family acclimatize safely. Along the way, enjoy dramatic volcanic scenery before descending to Barranco Camp for the night.
Climb the famous Barranco Wall with the support of your experienced guides. It is a fun and rewarding section that leads to incredible views before an easy walk to Karanga Camp.
Distance: 4 km (2.5 miles)
A short trek brings your family to the final base camp. After lunch, your guides provide a summit briefing before everyone rests early in preparation for the climb to Africa's highest point.
Distance: 17 km (10.6 miles)
Begin your summit attempt before sunrise and climb steadily to Uhuru Peak (5,895 m). Celebrate this unforgettable family achievement before descending to Mweka Camp for a well-earned rest.
Distance: 13 km (8 miles)
Enjoy your final walk through the rainforest to Mweka Gate, where you'll receive your summit certificates. Your KiliPori Safaris team then transfers your family back to the hotel to celebrate an unforgettable adventure.
